Vandalized Van

This morning at work I found the company van had been broken into. A rock was thrown through the windsheild and and the driver side window was smashed. The glove box had been ripped off of the dashboard. I called my boss then the RCMP. The detatched glove box was taken for fingerprinting. I was taking notes and photos of the van along with the RCMP officer and she said that was a first for her.

Restaurant Makeover

My newspaper has been working on a five week centre spread saga called "Restraurant Makeover". A local business in town is relocating to a new, larger building and we have been covering the entire project. I am the main photographer for the project and someone else is writing the story. Isn't that great!

Well, we are now starting the fourth week of the project and I am looking for some new photos ideas. Here are some of my photos to date.

An old pile of splash guard from the kitchen lays in a messy pile.

Denise looks at the broken window that has been boarded up since they bought the building.

Paul Erickson cuts the wood to build the wall frame on Monday.

Eldon Erickson hammers the wall frame together that will soon create an office and storage space.

Tracey lifts a new vent that has been delivered for the new heating system.

Mary Ann is a member of the Pincher Creek Hutterite Colony and she has been contrated out to do the upholstery of all the booths for the restaurant.

Mary Ann cuts the fabric that will be used for the seats of the booths. She has been upholstering for 20 years. (Thanks for the idea Tony)

A trial Tae-Kwon-Do class was offered to the public. Interested participants paid the enrollment fee and will continue with the class until January.

After a fight on the street the fire crews came for clean up. First using an absorbant, bleach and then the hose.

Poppy seeds, football and more

The Hutterites invited me to go to the garden as they collected poppy seeds for their baking. They cut the poppy heads off the plants and let them dry in the sun and then they cut them open and pour out the seeds. They gathered enough seeds to fill a barrel and will last the colony five years.

Denise looks at some resumes for her restaurant. She is moving to a location three times the size of her old one and will need to expand her staff.

This was the first season volleyball game between Mathew Halton High School and St. Michaels School in Pincher Creek for their Junior Varsity teams. St. Michaels won all three sets.

This was the first day for the woman's bowling league.

Saturday was the first season game for Pincher Creek Mustangs against the Lethbridge Bulldogs.

Visiting from Saskatchewan

My friend Jen and her boyfriend Randal came to Pincher Creek to visit and we headed to Fernie, BC for the day. We stopped at Elk River and hung out for a while

Jen discovered a raft that was anchored to the side of the river and gave Randal a guided tour.

Jen relaxed on her new watercraft.
